Made for my daughter's host family in France, this quilt exhibits the shared national colors of red, white, and blue, nods to French and American symbols with the fleur-de-lis applique and the stars and stripes quilting, and a pieced block whose stark positive-negative exchange of value is meant to symbolize cultural exchange. Machine pieced and quilted. In private collection.
